The problem of plastic waste has been in the news a lot recently. Especially with the Federal Government moving to ban the sale, manufacturing and import of certain one-time-use packaging plastic materials. I have a question for you. What about the chemicals, like the fertilizer you use in your gardens?

This is a problem that affects all of us. Did you know that some of them leave microplastics in the soil? Microplastics are non-degradable plastic that are very small. And just because they are small, and we may not be able to see them easily doesn’t mean that they aren’t there. Nor does it mean that they don’t cause problems. For example, scientists have found that these microplastics are very pervasive and spread everywhere. So much so that they are now found in the food we eat and most recently they have even been found in the blood of people.

We are doing everything we can to reduce the use of plastics. Clearly, there are no plastic materials in our product formulations. Where possible we use packaging materials such as glass jars for the 220 mL Liquid Mulch and seaweed fertilizer. Or, for the aluminum spray bottles for the Nutritional leaf spray. Yes, we still use plastic containers for some of the other sizes, but we are working actively to replace those as well. We are doing that while keeping the costs competitive.
